Language and Translation

The official language will be English. No simultaneous translation will be provided.



Speaking English and translation to needed help.
Guiding participants to Brassica2014 free shuttle at Wuhan Tianhe International Airport exit with Brassica2014 Reception Board, help transportation of luggage if needed.
Draft notes in mandarin for taxi drivers to help delegates get to and from other places.
Guiding participants to relevant check-in at Brassica2014 reception desk at Zhong Nan Garden Hotel.
Offering translations when delegates have special meal and medical needs.
Never leave tips to Volunteers which may make them uneasy.


Badges for Participants and Accompanying Persons

Participants and accompanying persons receive individual name badges when registering at the Brassica2014 Venue. The name badges must be worn at all times throughout the Symposium and social functions. No admittance can be granted if the name badge is not worn clearly visible.



Decimal currency is used in China - units are Yuan (CNY or RMB) and Jiao. All major credit cards are widely accepted in China. Visit for current exchange rates.


Business Hours

Most shops open from 8:00 am to 18:00 pm and some will continue to 21:00 pm from Monday to Sunday except Chinese traditional Spring Festival in January or February.



A bank service will be available within 5 minutes walking distance from the Brassica2014 Venue.
Normal banking hours are Monday to Sunday 8:30 am-17:00 pm, including public holidays. 24 Hour Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) can be found throughout the City and Shopping Centres.

Note: US dollars, Euro, Japanese Yuan, Korean Won and other major currency can be exchanged at Airport and Banks with your passport as proof of identity. Currency conversions can only be conducted from Monday to Friday 8:30 am-16:30 pm in major banks.



In March-April, it is an invigorating spring climate in China. It is suitable for travel, and there is little rain with average air temperatures around 12 to 21°C in Wuhan City. One long-sleeved T-shirt and one coat will be essential. Beijing and Xi’an lie in Northern China and could be a little colder (2-4°C lower than Wuhan), while Guilin or Gongcheng lie in the Southern China should be a little hot (2-4°C higher than Wuhan)). It is also need to be noticed that the temperature at the dawn or dusk may low, please bring more clothes such as sweater and short-sleeve T-shirt for the rainy day. Two voltage levels-220 V (50 Hz) and 110 V (50 Hz) are offered by all of the recommended hotels. 220 V (50 Hz) is China nation-wide power supply output.
